What 2019 had in store for us…
It’s been a busy few months since we last caught up and certainly no moss has gathered on our feet!
We kicked out July with our Bastille Day Long Degustation Lunch here in Newcastle in collaboration with Restaurant Mason and Longworth House. What an incredible day this was as we showcased the magnificent wines of Domaines Albert Bichot and our Champagne from Domaine Vadin-Plateau.
Late July, we headed north to join up forces with Byron Bay Champagne Club and the team at 100 Mile Table for a Champagne dinner and tasting. This still has the locals talking about the great kick out of biodynamic Champagnes and the food pairings by Sarah at 100 Mile Table was outstanding.
It’s always a pleasure to team up with the ever-dynamic Jane Thomson, who has to be the busiest woman in the world of wine.
August saw us on the road with Taste of Champagne and that was about it for us for the entire month as we crisscrossed the nation with our bubbles (more on this one later).
September has been another busy month.
First, we headed south for the South Coast Food and Wine Festival in Berry where we partnered with our great mates at Le Petit Bar for a weekend of quality Champagne and Crèmant madness.
Then we headed back home, where we had a great Riesling Masterclass with the wonderful team at the Hunter Valley Sommeliers. This week, we partner with our new friends at Newcastle Sommeliers, conducting a Burgundy masterclass right here in Newcastle, which we are very excited to be joining them for our first event.
Finally, we finish the month with a touch of Oktoberfest with our great mates at Tighes Hill Cellars. This will be fun as this is the most unique venue and group of clients it promises to be another great night indeed – Oktoberfest is not just about beer that is for sure.
